About mysunsign

mysunsign is a free astrology site built on real calculation. You enter a birth date, and if you know them, a birth time and place; the tools then work out where the Sun, the Moon and the planets were at that moment, and which signs and houses they fell in. It is made for adults who enjoy astrology and want the numbers behind it to be right.

How the numbers are made

Planet positions come from Astronomy Engine, an open-source library that is accurate to about one arcminute. Houses, the Ascendant, the Midheaven, the lunar nodes and Black Moon Lilith use published formulas, coded for this site. Your birth time is turned into world time with the time zone of the birthplace, from the public tz database built into your browser. Every calculation runs on your own device. What the readings are

The short readings describe what astrological tradition associates with each placement. They are written by us, for entertainment and self-reflection. Astrology is not a science, and nothing here predicts your health, money or relationships.

Who runs the site

mysunsign is an independent project run by a small team that builds free reference websites. There are no accounts and no forms, and we never see the birth data you type.
